English Tutor Andy on face book

I talk about the situation in Sri lanka about children being deprived of a good education.I am then sent a Care2 message about the children in the USA being subject to deprivation via having to pay for tutors and the loans that they take and the repayments they have to make and finally the desperate attempts at having to pay back the sums from the banks merely to support them through their educational years which do not even guarantee them a future in their chosen specialty because they are jobless.

Now my battle here is different but the same in that there are several school island wide which are "International schools" where the fees are treble the cost of a regular school and the home for the foreign students who come to sri lanka via their parents on jobs. The best they can get, if they are really weak in English, is a glorified "Certificate of effort" which means the child has been consistent in her attendance and a punctual person, but it does not give her/him entrance into the university.

Therefore I have created a webpage on facebook to advise the children at least those who are on face book, the mothers of children, the expectant mothers and those who are in the trade that they should be teaching the children correct English in schools so that they won't need tutors. Therefore I decided to go public, to advise the foreign children that sri Lanka can be good port of call for a cheaper education than world wide, and that hopefully, they could come to someone who could guide them in the correct choice of a tutor. Oh well, not me per se, but the first link as myself.  The first is more of a travel/holiday brochure because there is very little that a teacher can say about herself and the role of teacher to kids. They hate them all to begin with :). So the negatives have to be overcome with fun and laughter.  The second is my page to do so.
